Small Rhombus

SMALL RHOMBUS is an exhibition of illustrations from Katri Smitt’s author’s book of the same name, created between 2021 and 2025. It is a picture book for children, in which the story begins when a small rhombus leaves a tablecloth pattern. What happens next is left for each viewer to guess from the exhibition images or discover by reading the book.

The author’s aim was to juxtapose geometric and natural forms, to highlight the diverse charm of nature’s patterns, and to follow the journey of a curious little rhombus as it explores a summer garden.

The book was published by Postimees Publishing House (edited by Lea Arme, designed by Liis Karu, project managed by Kristel Palk) and printed by Tallinna Raamatutrükikoda. The illustrations were framed by OÜ Intramus.

The author would like to thank the Estonian Cultural Endowment, Indrek Koff, Tiina Kukk, Maris Taul, and the Kondas Centre for their support.
