International Exhibition of Bookbinding Scripta Manent VI “Forestonia”

The organiser of the exhibition, The Estonian Association of Designer Bookbinders, follows the tradition that all the participants bind the same book, which this time is the special edition by the renowned Estonian author, semiotician and philosopher of culture Valdur Mikita „Forestonia / Estwald / Mine metsa!” that has been printed in three languages.

The collection has been issued in cooperation with the Estonian Literature Centre.

The exhibition displays exciting designs and examples of technical mastery – more than 80 bindings by designers from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland, including the works awarded by the international jury of experts.

The organising team includes Tiia Eikholm, Rene Haljasmäe, Sirje Kriisa, Lennart Mänd, Tähti Roostalu, Tulvi Turo.

The exhibition was designed by Lennart Mänd.

“Scripta manent” (Latin ‘written words remain’) has been held in Tallinn every five years since 1995.
