Elena Tkachenko "Unique Collections"Elena Tkachenko is a well-known Ukrainian-born artist working with textile. The exquisite sense of colours and high professionalism allow her not only to work with traditional techniques but also create individual unique methods of interlacing.
The result of her experimenting over the last five years is stunning beauty of her of laced pictures. This is due to the original technique which might be called "painting with threads": Elena weaves thousand meters of multi-coloured strings into the most complicated on colour scale shawl-cloths, selecting and varying the smallest shades of colour.
The exhibition is supported by Estonian Cultural Endowment.
